Take some time next summer to focus on your own learning.
Join us for a week of Logo exploration and creation. Here's
what some participants in previous Logo Summer Institutes
had to say:*
Company was great, location wonderful, info and ideas
abound...
The manner in which the workshop is designed where we,
the students, design and build our vehicles is great! We
get to experience first hand what the students' experiences
may be.
I thought it was a terrific workshop! I really learned
a lot about how to use the technology. The facilitators
were also great! They always were around to see how your
project was going and offer great feedback on it, which
was incredibly helpful :)
This was the most productive professional development
workshop I've attended. Valuable personal learning experience
of skills that directly relates to classroom experience.
Very excited to try these out next school year.
*comments taken from the anonymous evaluations
that participants were asked to complete at the end of each
Institute.

The Logo Summer Institutes are intensive workshops
with an emphasis on constructionist, project-based learning.
Personally meaningful projects provide the context for learning
about Logo and computers as well as about the subject matter
involved in the project. The Institutes also serve as models
of the teaching and learning environments that you might set
up in your own home or school.
Most of each workshop day is devoted to project development
and sharing. There is also time to dialog about issues related
to education and technology, and to make practical plans for
using what you learn in your classroom, home school, community
center, or museum.
The individualized approach of a Logo Summer Institute accommodates
experienced Logo users as well as novices, teachers of all
ages and different subjects, parents and young people. We
see a diversity of skill and experience as an asset since
it better enables participants to share and learn from each
other.
The number of participants in each Institute is limited to
a maximum of 20 and there are two or three facilitators to
insure that everyone gets the personal attention they need.
Computers are locally networked and connected full-time to
the Internet. There is at least one machine per participant.
You may bring your own laptop - PC or Mac - if you prefer.
