I have been the library media specialist and the technology integration champion at Lakeview Elementary (Fort Bend ISD) since August 2017. I am the sponsor of after school coding club at LVE as well. I was a Digital Learning Specialist (DLS) for Fort Bend ISD in Sugar Land from October 2013 until June 2017. As a DLS, I provided support and training for teachers and students as they integrated technology into their classroom and curriculum. Prior to being a DLS, I was a third-grade classroom teacher for nine years at Barbara Jordan Elementary.

After attending the FBISD Logo Summer Institute, I’ve had the opportunity to work with campuses in my district to build teachers’ and students’ coding skills. I have assisted in developing coding training, designed district elementary and middle school robotics competitions, and trained students and parents on Scratch Jr during Scratch Day.  The programming and coding tools I have experience with are LEGO NXT Robotics, LEGO EV3 Robotics, Scratch Jr, Scratch, Turtle Art, Makey Makey, Hummingbird, Tynker, Wonder Dash & Dot Robots, Beebots, Hour of Code and more.

I love incorporate coding and programming into the library at Lakeview Elementary. The students are excited to come to the library and learn about coding. When I am not at work, I can be found walking my dog, Jackson, hanging out with friends, eating, reading, listening to music, and watching TV & movies.
